TEMPLATE, NOT LEGAL ADVICE. Review before relying on it. This is a plain-English starting draft for a solo service business. Have it checked (and fill in the bracketed placeholders) before collecting emails or taking payments.

Privacy Policy

Effective date: [DATE]

Shelf Test Studio ("we", "I") is a one-person business in Texas, USA, run by [LEGAL NAME / BUSINESS NAME]. We make video teardowns of Steam store pages. This page explains what we collect, why, and what you can ask us to do with it.

What we collect

When you join the founding list, we ask for:

That's it for sign-ups. We don't ask for your Steamworks login, ever. If you choose to email us extra details (like wishlist numbers), we use them only for your teardown.

When you buy: payment is handled by our payment provider [Stripe or Gumroad]. They collect your card details and billing info under their own privacy policy. We never see or store your full card number. We receive a record of the sale (such as your name, email, amount and date).

Basic technical data: our website host (Cloudflare) may process technical data like your IP address and browser type to deliver and protect the site. We don't add advertising or analytics trackers to this site. The sign-up form is embedded from Tally (tally.so), so your browser loads it from Tally's servers.

How we use it

We don't sell or rent your information, and we don't use it to train AI models.

Who we share it with

Only the services we need to run the business, and only for that purpose:

We may also share information if the law requires it.

How long we keep it

Sign-up emails: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. Order records: as long as needed for tax and accounting purposes. Teardown videos and notes: [e.g. 12 months] after delivery, unless you ask us to delete them sooner.

Your choices

You can ask us to show you, correct or delete the information we hold about you, or to stop emailing you. Email hello@shelfteststudio.com and we'll reply within 30 days. Every marketing email includes a way to unsubscribe.

Visitors outside the US

We're based in the United States and the services we use may store data in the US or elsewhere (for example, Tally stores form data in the EU). If you're in the EU/UK or another region with privacy laws, you have the rights those laws give you, and you can use them by emailing us.

Children

This service is for game developers and studios. It isn't meant for children under 13 and we don't knowingly collect their information.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date above. Big changes will be announced by email to people on our list.
